Waikiki East & West Attractions

Waikiki Aquarium
If you love sea dwellers – this is the place to visit. Over 2,500 organisms and 420 species of Hawaiian and South Pacific marine life are protected and nurtured here. Endangered Hawaiian monk seals, sharks, and the only chambered nautilus living in captivity are just some of the denizens of the deep you’ll encounter. The Edge of the Reef exhibit showcases five different types of reef environments found along Hawaiian shorelines. Think about seeing this before you snorkel – it will really help orient you to what to look for. If you don’t snorkel – don’t worry – this is an up-close-and-personal experience on dry land.

Tea Ceremony
The mysteries of Japan’s ancient tea ceremony are demonstrated Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Urasenke Foundation.

Lucoral Museum
Exhibits explore the world of coral and other indigenous semi-precious stones – but you can also participate in making your own souvenir from semi-precious materials.

Walk through a lush garden as you view the animated monkeys swinging happily through the trees. There’s a bird sanctuary featuring the endangered nene, (Hawaii’s state bird) and a petting zoo the kids are sure to love (complete with a llama and a monitor lizard named Abbey).
